Future Stars is an in-house league that provides the opportunity for students to learn and play basketball in a recreational setting. Our program focuses on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship and FUN! This recreational program utilizes volunteers for coaching (this volunteer will likely be a parent). New divisions this year: Beginner - if your child is brand new to basketball or if this is their first sport experience or if you just feel your child would be most successful at the beginner level, please register for Beginner. Advanced Beginner - if your child has been playing for a few years and has some skills already developed or if they are an athletic child who will do just fine with kids who have been playing for a few years, please sign them up for Advanced Beginner. This is still a recreational league, so please set your expectations accordingly. We have an overlap for 4th graders - you can select the division based on child size/developmental level/experience. ~Practices scheduled to start the week of Jan. 5. Each team will be assigned 1 guaranteed practice and some teams may choose to add a 2nd practice M-F for 60-75 minute increments at various HVS schools ~Games will be played on Saturdays starting January 17 and we will aim to end by March 14 (to avoid conflicts with spring sports schedules, as long as we don't have any weather cancellations). We strive to create an environment where players will experience equal playing time or as close to equal as possible. If teams are more or less than 10 players, that is not always possible, but over the course of the season the playing time should be equal or close to equal. The games are listed on the schedule, but the times won't be known until late December. Games could be anytime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (depending on the size of the division). There will no games on Feb. 14 (due to HVS winter break); Team pictures will be TBD. HV Rec and Ed will now provide 2 paid scorekeepers per game so parents no longer have to help at the score table Register 2 or more children for the Future Stars Basketball league and receive a $5 discount for each additional child. Discounts applied at checkout. Parents/guardians who volunteer to coach will receive a discount on their child's registration fees. This will be refunded back AFTER we confirm who the coaches will be for the season and AT the CONCLUSION of the season. Join us Wednesday, March 25 for a hopping good time at our Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt! We will have games, prizes, a craft, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself! Pre-registration required. Older kids are welcome, and that kids in the special Ed program are always welcome. Just contact us directly to register anyone over 13 years old. Children ages 0-24 months = Free, but they will not receive the candy bag or the craft but they are welcome to attend the hunt! If you are unable to afford the entry fee, please contact us at infohvreced@hvs.org to find out about our scholarship options. The scholarship donation option below is a way that we help families who may not be able to afford events like this one, still attend. We collect donations to help offset the costs of the event.

We offer fun, safe and affordable gymnastics for those looking to compete or learn a cartwheel. Staff consists of coaches with backgrounds in education, cheer, dance and gymnastics. Girls and boys are welcome in our toddler/preschool and school age programs. Toddler-Preschool Gymnastics- For boys and girls ages 18 months-4 years old. Students will get their first experience with the wonderful sport of gymnastics. Balance, strength, coordination, flexibility and confidence are just a few of the concepts we will work on. We will use all pieces of gymnastics equipment as well as fun preschool equipment. Parents may accompany child in the class. School Age / Recreational Gymnastics- For boys and girls ages 5-14 years old. Gymnasts will be instructed on all pieces of equipment. Strength, balance, flexibility, body awareness and confidence are all concepts we will work on. Beginning- Stretching, body positions, forward and backward rolls, handstand, cartwheel, bridge and skills on equipment will be worked on. If you can't do a cartwheel yet, this is the class for you. In this club we will be talking about healthy foods, exercises and how to better our bodies through both. This club is run by Ms. Young and it is for ages kindergarten through fifth grade girls and boys. The club will be held every Thursday from 4:15-5:15pm starting April 1st through May 6th. All you need to bring is a healthy snack, water, and wear clothes that are comfortable to move in!

Do you like celebrating holidays? Do you have any traditions during the holidays that you enjoy? Then this is the club for you! During this club, we will be focusing on different holidays and celebrating them with each other by creating crafts, watching videos, and talking about traditions, while creating some traditions of our own. This club will be run by Ms. Young and it is for grades kindergarten through fifth grade girls and boys.

This one-hour weekly program takes place right at the school, giving students hands-on experience with iCode’s award-winning computer science curriculum. Through fun, interactive lessons, they’ll build a strong foundation in patterns, sequencing, and logical thinking. Students will explore block coding and animation using Scratch, along with other exciting hands-on STEM activities.students will need access to iPads or laptops. iCode provides all other materials.

This open-ended art class gives your child the freedom to express themselves and explore a variety of art materials in a supportive environment. Our materials list is always evolving! Some of the creative experiences may include drawing, playful exploration with paint and color, watercolor and tempera painting, oil and chalk pastels, air-dry clay, and mixed-media projects that spark the imagination.
