Holiday ClubHighland Elem Empower HourDo you like celebrating holidays? Do you have any traditions during the holidays that you enjoy? Then this is the club for you! During this club, we will be focusing on different holidays and celebrating them with each other by creating crafts, watching videos, and talking about traditions, while creating some traditions of our own. Intro to Coding and AnimationLakewood Elem Empower HourThis one-hour weekly program takes place right at the school, giving students hands-on experience with iCode’s award-winning computer science curriculum. Through fun, interactive lessons, they’ll build a strong foundation in patterns, sequencing, and logical thinking. Johnson: Hands-On Science Hour!Johnson Elem Empower HourScience for A-spy-ring Spies (Grades 3-5):Students will learn to complete simple missions each week to earn a prize: creating codes and ciphers for secret messages, invisible inks, chemical evidence analysis, maps and mazes, learning to work with fragments of data, and surveillance memory puzzles. Planned activities may be adjusted for student interest/skill levels. Science Lessons for Aspiring Wizards (Grades 3-5): Magic Wands, Bubbling Cauldrons, Witch’s Slime, Troll Magnetic Slime, Golden Snitches, Magical Animal Familiars, Color Changing Potions and so much more (activities may be adjusted based on the interest and skill levels of the participants)A Hands-on science program for aspiring witches and wizards. The registration Deadline for this program will be one week before the first class. In this hands-on science program, students will explore the amazing journey food takes through the body. Over six weeks, students will perform fun and safe experiments that show how we chew, digest, absorb nutrients, and form waste. Through exciting activities, interactive readings from Horrible Science: Disgusting Digestion, and kid-friendly videos, students will learn the science of digestion in a way that’s both educational and grossly fun. 3D Print:Join us for an exciting after-school adventure in 3D design and printing! Students will explore TINKERCAD, a fun and easy-to-use program, to create and import 3D designs. They’ll learn the full process of bringing ideas to life—from digital creation to actual 3D-printed objects. This hands-on program encourages creativity, problem-solving, and innovation, giving students the tools to turn their imagination into real-world creations! Pick up will be at the BUS LOOP.
