Candy Cane HuntSpecial EventsCome experience our annual Candy Cane Hunt! Kids will get to search an indoor course for candy canes and receive some take home holiday craft projects! Hot chocolate will also be served to help warm up the festivities! We will offer "Hunt" times throughout the 2.5 hour period and we will lump similar ages/sizes together for the "hunt". So just come when you can and we'll make sure your kids get to hunt while you are at the event. If you are interested, we will be offering a separate, but simultaneous event that you are welcome to register for as well. We will be hosting a Holiday Cookie Decorating event that day too! This event is geared towards children 9 years and younger. Older children are allowed to register/attend, but please note that the crafts and activities are geared towards younger children. When you arrive please check-in inside the school entrance and then the event leaders will announce "hunt" times throughout the event. Self Directed Areas (open 5-7:30 p.m.) for each paying participant: Visit with Santa, holiday craft pick up area, hot chocolate, face painting, indoor snowball fight and more. Parents don't forget to bring your camera!!! Additionally, if you are interested in helping out a family who, otherwise, couldn't afford this event, you may select a variety of scholarship donations below.Fall 2026 -
Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid and Safe Home AloneBabysittingLearn to be safe and responsible. Build confidence. Have a competitive edge over other babysitters. One-day class. Topics include first aid, when and how to call 911, CPR with manikin practice, choking, and more! Students will also learn how to be safe and responsible when home alone, including what to do if somebody comes to the door and the importance of not giving out personal information.Students who successfully complete the course requirements will receive a certificate of completion for Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid course by Live Safe Academy (valid for two years). To be certified students must participate in the entire course from beginning to end and successfully complete all skills, which requires full motor function of all four extremities. No refunds or credit with less than 24-hour notice. If you need a medical exception, email Live Safe Academy at info@LiveSafeAcademy.com before class. Bring a snack, pen and paper for notes is optional. No cell phone use during class except during break. Please note that students must arrive on time to be certified, so please arrive up to 10 minutes early. All equipment provided. Taught by {YEL!} Youth Enrichment League. Fencing (Grades 6-12): Join this fast-paced, inclusive (everyone participates) Olympic Sport. {YEL}’s Teach It, Practice It, Play It® approach teaches fencers new skills each class, practices those skills in kid-friendly fencing games, and then encourages students to use those skills in fencing bouts (matches). All equipment provided. Fencing is consistently one of the fastest growing high school sports. It primarily appeals to those athletes we label as “intellectual athletes”. This type of athlete enjoys computers, video games, maybe engineering, but hasn’t found “their sport” yet. Fencing could be the next step in their athletic journey. Future Stars Basketball League (Boys) 3rd-5th Grade: Spring SessionYouth Basketball Leagues (Future Stars/HV United/Inter-School Boys)Spring Season! Future Stars is an in-house league that provides the opportunity for students to learn and play basketball in a recreational setting. Our program focuses on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship and FUN! This instructional program utilizes volunteers for coaching (this volunteer will likely be a parent). We will limit each division to just 4 teams or 40 kids for this mini-session. ~Practices scheduled to start the week of April 6. Each team will be assigned 1 practice for 60-90 minute increments at various HVS schools ~Games will be played on Saturdays starting April 11 and we'll be done before Memorial Day. Future Stars Outdoor Basketball Program (K-2) &(Gr 3-5)Youth Basketball Leagues (Future Stars/HV United/Inter-School Boys)Ball Handling • Dribbling • Shooting • Defense Introduce your young athlete to the game of basketball in a fun, positive, and structured environment. This 1-hour session will be split between skill development and live scrimmage play, giving players the chance to learn and apply their skills. Athletes will work on ball control, dribbling, shooting form, and defensive movement through engaging drills and games that build coordination, confidence, and game awareness. The session will conclude with a scrimmage to reinforce skills and encourage teamwork. • 3rd–5th grade players may have the opportunity to play outside, weather permitting. • K–2nd grade players will remain in the gym, as outdoor hoops are too tall. Future Stars Skills ShowdownYouth Basketball Leagues (Future Stars/HV United/Inter-School Boys)Future Stars Skills Showdown gives young athletes a chance to grow their confidence while testing their abilities in a friendly, supportive, and competitive environment. Participants rotate through skill stations that highlight core basketball fundamentals such as dribbling control, passing accuracy, shooting technique, and footwork. The focus is on effort, improvement, and sportsmanship. Coaches guide students through each station, offering calm instruction and positive reinforcement so every participant feels capable and encouraged. Whether a child is brand new to basketball or already building their skills, the Showdown provides a structured way to practice, compete, and enjoy the game with peers. Glow In The Dark Easter Egg Hunt!Special EventsJoin us Wednesday, March 25 for a hopping good time at our Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt! We will have games, prizes, a craft, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself! Pre-registration required. Older kids are welcome, and that kids in the special Ed program are always welcome. Just contact us directly to register anyone over 13 years old. Children ages 0-24 months = Free, but they will not receive the candy bag or the craft but they are welcome to attend the hunt! If you are unable to afford the entry fee, please contact us at infohvreced@hvs.org to find out about our scholarship options. The scholarship donation option below is a way that we help families who may not be able to afford events like this one, still attend. Gymnastics- AdvancedGymnasticsHuron Valley Gymnastics is a recreational and competitive gymnastics program that offers classes to children ages 18 months-18 years. We offer fun, safe and affordable gymnastics for those looking to compete or learn a cartwheel. Staff consists of coaches with backgrounds in education, cheer, dance and gymnastics. Girls and boys are welcome in our toddler/preschool and school age programs. Toddler-Preschool Gymnastics- For boys and girls ages 18 months-4 years old. Students will get their first experience with the wonderful sport of gymnastics. Balance, strength, coordination, flexibility and confidence are just a few of the concepts we will work on. We will use all pieces of gymnastics equipment as well as fun preschool equipment. Parents may accompany child in the class. School Age / Recreational Gymnastics- For boys and girls ages 5-14 years old. Gymnasts will be instructed on all pieces of equipment. Strength, balance, flexibility, body awareness and confidence are all concepts we will work on. Beginning- Stretching, body positions, forward and backward rolls, handstand, cartwheel, bridge and skills on equipment will be worked on. If you can't do a cartwheel yet, this is the class for you. Intermediate- We will work on the skills listed for the Beginning class and start working on back walkovers as well as more difficult skills on equipment. Advanced- Gymnasts should be able to do a back walkover on the floor and working back handspring. This is our most advanced class before our competitive team.Winter/Spring 2026
