Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid and Safe Home AloneBabysittingCourse Description: Learn to be safe and responsible. Build confidence. Have a competitive edge over other babysitters. One-day class. Topics include first aid, when and how to call 911, CPR with manikin practice, choking, and more! Students will also learn how to be safe and responsible when home alone, including what to do if somebody comes to the door and the importance of not giving out personal information. Students who successfully complete the course requirements will receive a certificate of completion for Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid course by Live Safe Academy (valid for two years). To be certified students must participate in the entire course from beginning to end and successfully complete all skills, which requires full motor function of all four extremities. No refunds or credit with less than 24-hour notice. If you need a medical exception, email Live Safe Academy at info@LiveSafeAcademy.com before class. Bring a snack, pen and paper for notes is optional. No cell phone use during class except during break. Please note that students must arrive on time to be certified, so please arrive up to 10 minutes early. Parents, this class is for students who are independent and responsible enough to be responsible for the safety and well-being of younger children without adult supervision. Family Dance (Fire and Ice Ball)Special EventsJoin us for a magical night of dancing, crafts, the famous balloon drop and so much more! This is a community wide event open to all families. The crafts/snacks/activities are geared for kids ages 12 and younger, but older children are welcome as long as understand the focus age of this event. [Register your CHILD for the dance, it is not necessary to register the accompanying adult, which may be ANY adult] Register by February 20 so we can plan for the event. **Registration closes on Feb 20 at 8 p.m. After that, if you would like to attend you will need to show up at the dance by 5:30 p.m. to register on-site. Late registration fee will be an additional $10. Registration format- fees won't be collected until Dec 1, 2024. Couple registration for 1 child and 1 adult (please register your child for this course) Family of 3 (any combination of adults and children in the same family that equals 3); Family of 4 (any combination of adults and children in the same family that equals 4); Family of 5+ (any combination of adults and children in the same family that equals 5 or more up to a max of 8) Format: 4:30-5:30 p.m.: We welcome families with children 4 years and younger to attend during this time. You are welcome to stay, but this will allow time to do the crafts with kids of the same age/size and the dance music will be Disney and preschool music. 5:30-7:30 p.m.: We welcome families with children 5 -12 years old (older children are welcome, but the activities and music will be geared towards this age group. Future Stars Basketball League (Boys) 3rd-5th Grade: Spring SessionYouth Basketball Leagues (Future Stars/HV United/Inter-School Boys)Future Stars is an in-house league that provides the opportunity for students to learn and play basketball in a recreational setting. Our program focuses on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship and FUN! This instructional program utilizes volunteers for coaching (this volunteer will likely be a parent). We will limit each division to just 4 teams or 40 kids for this mini-session. ~Practices scheduled to start the week of March 31. Each team will be assigned 1 practice for 60-90 minute increments at various HVS schools ~Games will be played on Saturdays starting April 5 and we'll be done before Memorial Day (no games on April 19 due to Easter). Glow In The Dark Easter Egg Hunt!Special EventsJoin us Tuesday, April 8 for a hopping good time at our Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt! We will have games, prizes, a craft, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself! Pre-registration required. Older kids are welcome, and that kids in the special Ed program are always welcome. Just contact us directly to register anyone over 13 years old. Children ages 0-24 months = Free, but they will not receive the candy bag or the craft but they are welcome to attend the hunt! We offer fun, safe and affordable gymnastics for those looking to compete or learn a cartwheel. Staff consists of coaches with backgrounds in education, cheer, dance and gymnastics. Girls and boys are welcome in our toddler/preschool and school age programs. Toddler-Preschool Gymnastics- For boys and girls ages 18 months-4 years old. Students will get their first experience with the wonderful sport of gymnastics. Balance, strength, coordination, flexibility and confidence are just a few of the concepts we will work on. We will use all pieces of gymnastics equipment as well as fun preschool equipment. Parents may accompany child in the class. School Age / Recreational Gymnastics- For boys and girls ages 5-14 years old. Gymnasts will be instructed on all pieces of equipment. Strength, balance, flexibility, body awareness and confidence are all concepts we will work on. Beginning- Stretching, body positions, forward and backward rolls, handstand, cartwheel, bridge and skills on equipment will be worked on. If you can't do a cartwheel yet, this is the class for you. Intermediate- We will work on the skills listed for the Beginning class and start working on back walkovers as well as more difficult skills on equipment. Advanced- Gymnasts should be able to do a back walkover on the floor and working back handspring. This is our most advanced class before our competitive team.Winter/Spring 2025

We will spend 2 weeks on the senses, one of touch, taste, and smell and one on sight (&light) and hearing (&sound). 1 week we’ll explore Weather and the water cycle, 1 week plants and trees, 1 week water science (sink, float, solutions) and 1 week of forces and motion Kitchen Science (Grades 3-5): exploring science through food – Using everyday kitchen staples, students will measure, make mixtures, solutions & super-saturated solutions, observe the effects of hot and cold, and explore the chemical reactions of leavening agents. We will investigate dairy by making magic milk, butter, cottage cheese and ice cream, and use emulsifiers to examine the interaction of oil and water. Students will use starches to make a fun “gak” and to thicken rice pudding. ***Students must register ONE WEEK before class starts so I can e-mail parents a food allergy questionnaire to complete before Day 1***Winter/Spring 2025
