Candy Cane HuntSpecial EventsCome experience our annual Candy Cane Hunt! Kids will get to search an indoor course for candy canes and receive some take home holiday craft projects! Hot chocolate will also be served to help warm up the festivities! We will offer "Hunt" times throughout the 2.5 hour period and we will lump similar ages/sizes together for the "hunt". So just come when you can and we'll make sure your kids get to hunt while you are at the event. If you are interested, we will be offering a separate, but simultaneous event that you are welcome to register for as well. We will be hosting a Holiday Cookie Decorating event that day too! This event is geared towards children 9 years and younger. Older children are allowed to register/attend, but please note that the crafts and activities are geared towards younger children. When you arrive please check-in inside the school entrance and then the event leaders will announce "hunt" times throughout the event. Self Directed Areas (open 5-7:30 p.m.) for each paying participant: Visit with Santa, holiday craft pick up area, hot chocolate, face painting, indoor snowball fight and more. Parents don't forget to bring your camera!!! Additionally, if you are interested in helping out a family who, otherwise, couldn't afford this event, you may select a variety of scholarship donations below.Fall 2026 -
Cheerleading by Champion Force AthleticsCheerleadingWe offer a fun and exciting cheer program for beginner, intermediate and advanced level students. D1 and D2 combined ages 4-8D3 (nationals team) Age is 9+ - division 3 National team members only We focus on the fundamentals of cheer, chants, jumps, stunts, and dance routines. Each class learns at least one full routine and will showcase their skills for parents and at competitions. Classes are available for all ages and no experience is needed for recreation levels. Champion force Athletics is dedicated to empowering all kids with strength, confidence, and self-esteem. All classes are taught by certified coaches.Summer 2026 -
Glow In The Dark Easter Egg Hunt!Special EventsJoin us Wednesday, March 24 for a hopping good time at our Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt! We will have games, prizes, a craft, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself! Pre-registration required. Older kids are welcome, and that kids in the special Ed program are always welcome. Just contact us directly to register anyone over 13 years old. We offer 2 registration rates for the younger kids who may not be old enough yet for candy and the craft. If you are unable to afford the entry fee, please contact us at infohvreced@hvs.org to find out about our scholarship options. The scholarship donation option below is a way that we help families who may not be able to afford events like this one, still attend. We offer fun, safe and affordable gymnastics for those looking to compete or learn a cartwheel. Staff consists of coaches with backgrounds in education, cheer, dance and gymnastics. Girls and boys are welcome in our toddler/preschool and school age programs. Toddler-Preschool Gymnastics- For boys and girls ages 18 months-4 years old. Students will get their first experience with the wonderful sport of gymnastics. Balance, strength, coordination, flexibility and confidence are just a few of the concepts we will work on. We will use all pieces of gymnastics equipment as well as fun preschool equipment. Parent & Tot class- A parent will take part in the class with the students. 3 year old class- We start encouraging the students to participate in the class by themselves (with the parent on the sideline). However, parents may participate with the child if needed similar to the Parent & Tot class. 4 year old class- Students will participate in the class with the parents in the gym on the sideline.Summer 2026 -

Safe Town HVSSafety TrainingSafe Town is an early childhood safety education program. Children learn all aspects of safety through projects, songs, games, presentations, and plays. This program teaches bus safety (including a brief bus ride), electricity and water safety, dog safety, stranger safety, bike safety and much more. Visitors come each day. Crafts supporting the daily theme are completed and children get important information about starting school. Part of each day is spent "In the Town" with some of the children being pedestrians and some as drivers of 14" or 16" two-wheel bikes with training wheels. PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD BRING IN THEIR OWN LABELED HELMET AND BACKPACK. Safe Town is for children entering Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten or First Grade in the fall. Trick or TrucksSpecial EventsRegistration closes at 9 a.m. on 10/21/26. To purchase tickets after 9 a.m., please just arrive early for the time slot you wanted and you can register on site with a QR code. The day of price is $7. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! Celebrate Halloween a little early with Huron Valley Recreation and Community Education. Not only will kids get the experience of trick or treating, but they will also get to see the area's biggest trucks. Possible trucks will include a dump truck, fire engine, bulldozer, and much more! All children must be accompanied by an adult. Event will proceed rain or shine! We have two time slots where we won't have horns/sirens going, in case you have a child that is scared or startled with the loud noises. You will register by your arrival time. You are welcome to stay longer than your 30 minute time slot, but we will be wrapping up by 7:15/7:30 p.m. so please plan accordingly. This event will be held at Oak Valley MS (new location) in the parking lot. Also, all activities will be outside. Activities include trick or treating with the trucks, a special holiday treat for all of our paid participants and we will also now offer food trucks as an option for attendees. The food truck purchases are NOT part of your registration fee. Children ages 2 - 13 = $5/child. The $5 fee covers the cost of the candy for all of our trucks and the treat for all of our participants. Older kids are welcome and kids in the Special Ed program are always welcome. United Soccer League - Co-EdUnited Soccer LeagueLearn the fundamentals of soccer as well as the importance of teamwork through Youth Soccer. Everyone plays and everyone is part of the team. Kids develop important soccer skills, including passing, dribbling, shooting and working as a team in a fun and supportive environment. Not only will children have an opportunity to advance skills, but they'll also build social skills, gain confidence and develop leadership skills. Dedicated volunteer coaches are trained to set expectations and help kids find their strengths and improve. This is a co-ed league. Ages 4-5: Practice 25 minutes and Play 30 minutes on Wednesday evenings. Game times will be 6 or 7 p.m. Ages 6-8/8-11/11-14: Practices will be anywhere from 30-45 minutes long followed by games on Wednesday nights. Game times will be 6 p.m. or later. Age 6-8 will play on a 30x20 field (smaller field and smaller goals) and will play 4v4 with 6 on a team. LOTS of play time and LOTS of touches which is ideal! Additionally, our 8-11 and 11-14 division will play on a smaller field and smaller goals and will play 7v7. Again LOTS Of play time and LOTS Of touches! Coaches Meeting @ TBDVolunteer Coaches will receive a 25% discount on team fees (applied AFTER registration) Team fees will include uniform top and practice equipment. (Location: Carls Family YMCA or Oak Valley MS), game times will be between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Divisions: Ages 6-8 and 8-11; if you have younger/smaller/newer players who are 8 years old, we suggest registering for the 6-8 division; if you have more mature/developed/experienced 8 year old then we suggest the 8-11 year old division. Divisions: Middle School Division -new format, still a rec league. Coaches Meeting @ TBD Volunteer Coaches will receive a 25% discount on team fees (applied AFTER registration) Team Pictures will be on TBD (rain or shine) @ the YMCA/Oak Valley before/after your game that day. Team fees will include uniform jersey. Other needed equipment will need to be provided by the families (soccer socks and shin guards). Balls/cones/pinnies/other equipment is available for teams to share on site. Free/Reduced Lunch and Multi-child discounts apply. Pink Out Game on Saturday, Oct 11! Enjoy an energetic dance floor, creative crafts, and the crowd-favorite balloon drop that brings everyone together for a truly memorable experience. This welcoming, community-wide event is designed for all families and all kinds of connections. Whether you’re attending as a parent and child, with a relative, guardian, mentor, or another important person in your life, this evening is all about celebrating time together in a fun and inclusive atmosphere. Come ready to dance, create, and make lasting memories. Registration Process: Register your child for the event. There is no need to register accompanying adult(s). If more than two adults plan to attend, you will be able to indicate that during registration. If you are registering multiple children, please sign up each child individually. The first child is $15 (ages 2 and under) or $25 (ages 3 and older). Each additional child is $10. The multi-child discount will be automatically applied at checkout.
