Candy Cane Hunt
Sweet holiday memories await! Join us for our annual Candy Cane Hunt, where kids search our indoor festive course for treats and take home fun holiday craft projects. Warm up with cozy hot chocolate and explore self-directed activity stations throughout the evening! Self-Directed Activities (5:00 – 7:30 PM): Visit with Santa, face painting, an indoor snowball fight, hot chocolate, and holiday crafts! Flexible Hunt Times: Candy cane hunts run continuously throughout the 2.5-hour event, grouped by age/size so every child gets a fair turn—just arrive when it works best for your family! Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid and Safe Home Alone (Add On - Pet Sitter Safety too)
Learn to be safe and responsible. Build confidence. Have a competitive edge over other babysitters. Topics include first aid, when and how to call 911, CPR with manikin practice, choking, dealing with difficult behaviors, basic care methods like feeding and diapering, marketing and more! Students will also learn how to be safe and responsible when home alone, including the importance of not giving out personal information and what to do if somebody comes to the door. Students who successfully complete the course requirements will receive a certificate of completion for Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid course by Live Safe Academy (valid for two years). Please note that students must arrive on time to be certified, so please arrive up to 10 minutes early. To be certified students must participate in the entire course from beginning to end and successfully complete all skills, which requires full motor function of all four extremities.Parents, this class is for students who are independent and responsible enough to be responsible for the safety and well-being ofyounger children without adult supervision. Class will end between 2 PM and 3 PM depending on when students complete the courserequirements. Students need a lunch, snacks, and a fully charged cell phone (if they own one). If your student does not have a cellphone, please write down the cell phone number of the person picking them up and give it to the student. Students will message theirride at lunchtime to let their ride know what time to pick them up. Pen and paper for notes is optional. No cell phone use during classexcept during break. Cheerleading by Champion Force Athletics
We offer a fun and exciting cheer program for beginner, intermediate and advanced level students. We focus on the fundamentals of cheer, chants, jumps, stunts, and dance routines. Each class learns at least one full routine and will showcase their skills for parents and at competitions. Classes are available for all ages and no experience is needed for recreation levels. Champion force Athletics is dedicated to empowering all kids with strength, confidence, and self-esteem. All classes are taught by certified coaches. -

Future Stars Basketball League (Boys/Girls) Grades 3/4 and 4/5
Lace Up & Hit the Court with Future Stars Basketball! 🏀⭐ Welcome to the Future Stars Basketball League—the perfect place for young athletes to learn the game, build confidence, make friends, and have a blast! Our program focuses on fundamental skill development, teamwork, fair play, and sportsmanship above all else. Choose Your Division Beginner: Perfect if your child is brand new to basketball, trying their first sport, or most comfortable starting with the basics. Advanced Beginner: Ideal for players with a few years of experience or athletic kids ready for a faster pace. (Still a rec league focused on fun and growth!) 4th Grade Note: 4th graders fit into either level! Choose the division that best matches your child's skill, experience, and comfort. Season & Schedule Highlights Practices: Kick off the week of Jan. 4! Each team gets 1 guaranteed weeknight practice (60–75 mins), with options for a 2nd practice M–F at various HVS schools. Saturday Game Days: Action starts Jan. 9 and wraps up by March 6 so spring sports stay open! (Games take place between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM; specific times announced in late December). Winter Break Off: No games on Feb. 13 so families can enjoy HVS winter break. Parent-Friendly Update: No score table duty! HV Rec and Ed provides 2 paid scorekeepers per game so you can sit back and cheer on your player. Equal Playing Time: We prioritize fair rotations so every player gets maximum time on the hardwood. Perks, Discounts & Zero-Risk Registration Risk-Free Signup: Registration fees won't be collected until Nov. 1. Multi-Child Discount: Save on registration when you enroll 2 or more children! Glow In The Dark Easter Egg Hunt!
Join us Wednesday, March 24 for a hopping good time at our Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt! We will have games, prizes, a craft, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself! Pre-registration required. Older kids are welcome, and that kids in the special Ed program are always welcome. Just contact us directly to register anyone over 13 years old. We offer 2 registration rates for the younger kids who may not be old enough yet for candy and the craft. If you are unable to afford the entry fee, please contact us at infohvreced@hvs.org to find out about our scholarship options. The scholarship donation option below is a way that we help families who may not be able to afford events like this one, still attend. We collect donations to help offset the costs of the event.
