Summer Track and Field Program
NEW SUMMER TRACK AND FIELD PROGRAM!!
Join Coach Miller for this new 5 week track and field program with practices 3 days a week and ending with a professionally timed meet! The skills that your child will learn are also transferrable to other sports requiring speed, agility and explosiveness (ie. lacrosse, football, soccer, volleyball, etc)
Typical Daily Practice Schedule (no more than 90 mins)
2-3 lap warm up
Dynamic stretching
Mobility Work
Build Ups / Bounding
Agility Stations - mini hurdles - cone drills
Strength work - Bound down, explode to sprint 30 yards
55m sprints - 4xs
100m sprints - 3xs
Long Jump work
Distance work for the milers
Starting block work - Starts
2-3 lap cool down
Static Stretching
Practice location still TBD (we are hoping for MHS or LHS Track)
Dates for practices are Tuesdays/Thursdays/Saturdays from June 23 - Aug 1 (nothing the first week of July)
