MEET OUR Coaches -
U10s Coach - TBD

U11s Red Coach: Alice Montie
This is my third year coaching with Huron Valley United, following several years of coaching in the recreational league. I was a multi-sport athlete growing up, and I continue to have a strong passion for teaching the next generation all that sports have to offer. As a parent of four children in the district who are all actively involved in sports, I understand the importance of both development and enjoyment in athletics. My favorite part of coaching is watching players grow—seeing their progress on the court and the confidence they build through their achievements, both in sports and in life.

U11s Red Co-Coach: Gabrielle Hallgren
Gabrielle Hallgren is a senior at Miflord High School and began playing volleyball in third grade (her first coach being Shannon Loso). She has played club volleyball with Legacy Volleyball for the past four years and has played at Milford High School and Muir Middle School. She has coached recreational volleyball and enjoys working with young athletes. Gabrielle plans to attend college after graduation, where she would like to continue playing with the university's intramural league.

U12s Red Co-Coach: Dan Gourlay
Dan is a passionate and dedicated youth volleyball coach with a strong commitment to developing young athletes both on and off the court. With 20+ years of coaching experience (baseball, basketball, football, and golf), including 4 years coaching CYO and AAU volleyball, Dan brings a whole-athlete approach, strategic knowledge, and a positive coaching philosophy that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Dan has worked with athletes ranging from elementary to high school age, helping them build strong fundamentals, confidence, and a love for the game. Whether coaching recreational teams or competitive travel squads, he focuses on creating a fun, supportive environment where athletes are challenged to improve and inspired to lead. When not in the gym, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids golfing, boating, skiing, or watching the kids play their multitude of sports. He believes that great athletes start with great character and is very excited to begin his 2nd year with HV United.
