Empower HourEmpower Hour is a Before/After-School Enrichment/Recreation Program offered at the Elementary Schools. Empower Hour will offer students a wide variety of programming in their own school. All Empower Hour programs will meet once a week for six weeks, and are priced in three different tiers to reflect the amount of supplies needed. Learn how to respond effectively to adult, child and infant cardiac and choking emergencies, sudden illness, bleeding, and other life-threatening. You will also learn how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and your vital role in the chain of survival.First Aid and Adult/Pediatric CPR/AED certification card will be issued upon successful completion of course requirements (valid for two years). Future Stars Basketball Developmental Program (Gr K-2 and 3-5 Coed)Youth Basketball Leagues (Future Stars/HV United/Inter-School Boys)Future stars is designed for young athletes to build a strong foundation in the core elements of the game: ball handling, dribbling, shooting, and defense. Whether your child is just starting or looking to improve their skills, this class offers a fun, energetic, and structured environment where they can grow on and off the court. First half of the class will focus on skill development which can include fun games. second half will be 4v4, 5v5 Program Focus Areas: Ball Handling: Strengthen hand control and coordination using drills that teach proper technique and build confidence with both hands. Dribbling: Improve control under pressure, learn change-of-pace and direction techniques, and enhance court awareness through dynamic drills. Shooting: Master proper shooting form, balance, footwork, and follow-through. Players will work on shooting off the dribble, from the catch, and in game-like situations. Defense: Learn essential defensive techniques including stance, footwork, on-ball defense, help defense, and closeouts. Glow In The Dark Easter Egg Hunt!Special EventsJoin us Wednesday, March 24 for a hopping good time at our Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt! We will have games, prizes, a craft, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself! Pre-registration required. Older kids are welcome, and that kids in the special Ed program are always welcome. Just contact us directly to register anyone over 13 years old. We offer 2 registration rates for the younger kids who may not be old enough yet for candy and the craft. If you are unable to afford the entry fee, please contact us at infohvreced@hvs.org to find out about our scholarship options. The scholarship donation option below is a way that we help families who may not be able to afford events like this one, still attend. We offer fun, safe and affordable gymnastics for those looking to compete or learn a cartwheel. Staff consists of coaches with backgrounds in education, cheer, dance and gymnastics. Girls and boys are welcome in our toddler/preschool and school age programs. Toddler-Preschool Gymnastics- For boys and girls ages 18 months-4 years old. Students will get their first experience with the wonderful sport of gymnastics. Balance, strength, coordination, flexibility and confidence are just a few of the concepts we will work on. We will use all pieces of gymnastics equipment as well as fun preschool equipment. Parents may accompany child in the class. School Age / Recreational Gymnastics- For boys and girls ages 5-14 years old. Gymnasts will be instructed on all pieces of equipment. Strength, balance, flexibility, body awareness and confidence are all concepts we will work on. Beginning- Stretching, body positions, forward and backward rolls, handstand, cartwheel, bridge and skills on equipment will be worked on. If you can't do a cartwheel yet, this is the class for you. Intermediate- We will work on the skills listed for the Beginning class and start working on back walkovers as well as more difficult skills on equipment. Advanced- Gymnasts should be able to do a back walkover on the floor and working back handspring. This is our most advanced class before our competitive team.Fall 2026 -
