This class will have kids using their imagination and creativity to make winter-themed masterpieces — from sparkling snowflakes and cozy critters to frosty scenes and holiday keepsakes.Each week brings a new project using a variety of materials and techniques, helping students build fine motor skills while expressing themselves through art. With winter music, stories, and plenty of glitter, it’s the perfect way to warm up those creative minds all season long!Let's Dance with Miss Ziolko!" (morning class)This fun and energetic dance class is perfect for any child who love to move, groove, and express themselves! Each class will start with stretches to build strength and flexibility, followed by learning basic dance moves in a supportive and upbeat environment. Students will put those moves together into fun, short routines that build confidence, coordination, and creativity. Whether your child is brand new to dance or already loves performing, this class is designed to inspire a love of movement while making new friends and having fun!

What is Futsal? Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided soccer game that is played across the world and is officially recognized by both FIFA and UEFA. Futsal is recognized as a scaled down version of outdoor soccer played indoors. It is a 5 v 5 small-sided game played on a hard surfaced, basketball sized court with a smaller, low bounce ball. Futsal places a large emphasis on technical skill in high pressure situations which can be translated into the outdoor game. The sport is a great skill developer as it demands quick reflexes, fast thinking and pin-point passing. Why Futsal? Allows players to frequently touch the ball. Presents many opportunities to score goals and score goals often. Encourages regaining possession of the ball as a productive, fun and rewarding part of the game (defending). Maximizes active participation and minimizes inactivity and boredom. Eliminates complicated rules such as off-sides that may hinder youngsters from "playing". Divisions offered will be: Ages 4-5; Ages 6-8; and 8-11 All teams will practice for 30 minutes and then play for 30-45 minutes (depending on the age group) Games and practices will be held on Sundays at Oak Valley Center. Coaches Meeting @ TBD Volunteer Coaches will receive a 25% discount on team fees (applied AFTER registration) Team fees will include a uniform t-shirt. Other needed equipment will need to be provided by the families (soccer socks and shin guards). Balls/cones/pinnies/other equipment is available for teams to share on site. Free/Reduced Lunch and Multi-child discounts apply.

Designed especially for young players, this league is a fun introduction to the game of basketball! The first half of each session is dedicated to drills and fun skill-building games, helping players learn fundamentals like dribbling, passing, and shooting. The second half is game time, where kids get to put their skills into action in real 4v4 or 5v5 games. All players receive a team jersey. Lead coaches will guide the program, and parent volunteers are encouraged to help during drills and games. Space is limited, so register early to reserve your spot!

Future Stars is an in-house league that provides the opportunity for students to learn and play basketball in a recreational setting. Our program focuses on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship and FUN! This recreational program utilizes volunteers for coaching (this volunteer will likely be a parent). New divisions this year: Beginner - if your child is brand new to basketball or if this is their first sport experience or if you just feel your child would be most successful at the beginner level, please register for Beginner. Advanced Beginner - if your child has been playing for a few years and has some skills already developed or if they are an athletic child who will do just fine with kids who have been playing for a few years, please sign them up for Advanced Beginner. This is still a recreational league, so please set your expectations accordingly. We have an overlap for 4th graders - you can select the division based on child size/developmental level/experience. ~Practices scheduled to start the week of Jan. 5. Each team will be assigned 1 guaranteed practice and some teams may choose to add a 2nd practice M-F for 60-75 minute increments at various HVS schools ~Games will be played on Saturdays starting January 17 and we will aim to end by March 14 (to avoid conflicts with spring sports schedules, as long as we don't have any weather cancellations). We strive to create an environment where players will experience equal playing time or as close to equal as possible. If teams are more or less than 10 players, that is not always possible, but over the course of the season the playing time should be equal or close to equal. The games are listed on the schedule, but the times won't be known until late December. Games could be anytime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (depending on the size of the division). There will no games on Feb. 14 (due to HVS winter break); Team pictures will be TBD. HV Rec and Ed will now provide 2 paid scorekeepers per game so parents no longer have to help at the score table Register 2 or more children for the Future Stars Basketball league and receive a $5 discount for each additional child. Discounts applied at checkout. Parents/guardians who volunteer to coach will receive a discount on their child's registration fees. This will be refunded back AFTER we confirm who the coaches will be for the season and AT the CONCLUSION of the season. Come join us for a 90 minute lacrosse session with Coach Merian (former college coach and current club director and coach). In this hour you will learn all the fundamentals needed to play the game of lacrosse. Throwing, catching, ground balls, shooting and cradling are the basic skills needed to be successful on the field. You do not need to have any previous lacrosse experience. For Grades 5-8 you will need goggles, stick and a mouthguard. Please reach out if you need one to borrow a stick or goggles for the hour (first come first serve basis). We look forward to growing the sport with you.

Join us Wednesday, March 25 for a hopping good time at our Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt! We will have games, prizes, a craft, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself! Pre-registration required. Older kids are welcome, and that kids in the special Ed program are always welcome. Just contact us directly to register anyone over 13 years old. Children ages 0-24 months = Free, but they will not receive the candy bag or the craft but they are welcome to attend the hunt! If you are unable to afford the entry fee, please contact us at infohvreced@hvs.org to find out about our scholarship options. The scholarship donation option below is a way that we help families who may not be able to afford events like this one, still attend. We collect donations to help offset the costs of the event.

Guitar lessons for beginners and those that want to advance their playing. You will need your own guitar. You may bring your guitar with you in the morning and I can store it in my classroom during the day. If you have never played a guitar, now is a good time to start! You will be responsible for setting up a ride home at 4pm.
