Join us for a competitive volleyball league designed for 6th–8th graders who did not make their middle school team this fall or chose not to try out. This program provides an opportunity to play in a competitive setting through Huron Valley Rec & Ed. (Please note: This program is separate from school-sponsored intramural programs). League Details & Expectations Skill Level: Players should have prior volleyball experience. Beginners or players needing adapted rules should enroll in the Recreation Division. Rules: Follows standard middle school rules (regulation ball, 7'4" net height, no step-ins on serves, 5-serve limit per rotation, etc.). Season Duration: September through October (congruent with the middle school volleyball season). Schedule: Practices: Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays (6:00–7:30 PM or 7:30–9:00 PM). Games: Wednesday evenings at the Oak Valley Center. Tournament: An end-of-season tournament will be held if enough teams participate. Registration & Payment Registration Deadline: Wednesday, September 15. Fee Collection: Fees will not be processed until Friday, September 10. You may register now to reserve a spot without risk of paying if your child makes the middle school team. Coaching & Scholarships Volunteer Coaches: We aim to secure two coaches per team. Parent volunteer coaches receive a full registration fee waiver. Please indicate your interest during registration. Non-Parent Coaches: Compensated for their time. 🔥 IN-HOUSE RECREATION VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE (GRADES 3–8) 🔥 Ready to pass, set, and spike? Our In-House Volleyball League is open to both new and returning co-ed players! Designed to help athletes of all skill levels build fundamental skills during practice and apply them in fun, friendly competition, this program is the perfect place to grow as a player. Note: Middle School and High School divisions are for players not currently playing on a school team this fall. 🏆 Division Options In-House Recreation Divisions (Co-Ed): Focuses on skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork in a fun environment for players of all skill levels Recreational Grades 3-5 and 6-8 (all rec divisions will play with a volleylite ball and allow serving modifications) Competitive Grade 4/5 Division: Built for players with club experience or strong athletic ability who are ready for pass/set/hit gameplay and consistent overhand serving. (Not intended for beginners). Competitive Grades 6-8 Inter-School Girls Division: Click HERE to learn about this program now! Players in this division must have experience playing and will play with a regulation ball, no step in for serving and regulation net height. If your child is newer to volleyball, please sign them up for the recreational division. 📅 Practices & Games Practices: Begin the week of September 13 at HVS middle schools or Heritage, Oxbow, Lakewood, and Spring Mills Elementary. Each team gets 1 guaranteed practice night per week (Mon–Thu, 6:00–7:30 p.m. or 7:30–9:00 p.m., selected by the coach). Matches: Fridays, September 17 – October 29. If we have 4 more more teams we will host an end-of-season tournament that runs Nov 5 & 12 (teams may play multiple matches on tournament days). 🏐 Special Events & Details HV Rec & Ed Night (LHS vs. MHS @ MHS): Date TBD! Come out and support local high school volleyball—wear your league shirt to get in FREE! (Freshman/JV at 5:00 p.m., Varsity around 6:30/7:00 p.m.). Team Pictures: TBD @ your game site.
