All equipment provided. Taught by {YEL!} Youth Enrichment League. Fencing (Grades 6-12): Join this fast-paced, inclusive (everyone participates) Olympic Sport. {YEL}’s Teach It, Practice It, Play It® approach teaches fencers new skills each class, practices those skills in kid-friendly fencing games, and then encourages students to use those skills in fencing bouts (matches). All equipment provided. Fencing is consistently one of the fastest growing high school sports. It primarily appeals to those athletes we label as “intellectual athletes”. This type of athlete enjoys computers, video games, maybe engineering, but hasn’t found “their sport” yet. Fencing could be the next step in their athletic journey. Fencing also appeals to athletes that have been in more traditional sports but have found that they are looking for something new, unique…and that has swords! June 22-25 :{YEL!} Bricktopia Master Builders Camp (1st-5th grade)Students build our most challenging LEGO engineering projects (race cars, a motorized bug, a robot dog) and then use those projects to explore basic elements of engineering. July 6-9 AM :{YEL!} Video Game Creation - Dragons and Unicorns (1st - 3rd grade)"Dragons and Unicorns: Fun and Fury" inspires students to cultivate their creativity through character development and video game design. Students will design mythical dragons and unicorns that embark on a legendary quest to overcome obstacles and challenges, until they face an epic challenge to save the world! PARENT NOTE: Students may be asked to bring toys from home to photograph and add to their video game stories.July 6-9 PM :{YEL!} Coding Animation and Video Games (3rd-6th grade){YEL!} Coding classes are designed to introduce students to the world of coding through robust, interactive lessons.July 13-16 :{YEL!} CHESS SUMMER CAMP (1st-5th grade) All levels welcome. The {YEL!} Teach It!…Practice It!...Play It! method keeps chess students progressing with 60+ chess lessons and thousands of puzzles as well as guided games and an end-of-week in-class tournament. Battle summer brain drain...sign up todayJuly 27-31 :{YEL!} WOODWORKING (4th-7th grade)Build a picture frame, a race car, catapult and trophy display base. Builders will learn to measure, cut, sand, paint and then take home each project they build. This Youth Enrichment League (YEL) class educates students on the use of basic tools (hammers, nails, screwdriver, measuring tape, t-square and more). SAFETY IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY. No power tools will be used in class. Students should wear clothes that can get paint on them. Materials included in cost August 10-13 :{YEL!} Mad Scientists Training Academy (2nd-5th grade)In this class, you won’t just learn science…you’ll DO science. Make and take home a lava lamp, hover disc, explosive volcano, and...of course...SLIME! Use all of these experiments to explore and discover the scientific method. Don your white coat and goggles…it’s time to begin your own journey to becoming a mad scientist (cue maniacal laugh)! Materials included in costNOTE: All experiments are physical experiments, not chemical. Students will be provided safety goggles to wear during class.August 17-20 AM :{YEL!} Project Runway (4th-8th grade)Sweet summer projects! A comfy shorts, a water bottle bag, criss-cross headbandand more. No experience necessary. Students will make, showcase, and take home all their projects. Hand and machine sewing techniques are taught with SAFETY FIRST always in mind. The final day is a showcase where friends and family are invited to see the projects in action. Materials included in cost August 17-20 PM :YEL DESTINATION MARS: ROCKETRY COURSE (2nd-5th grade)Launch and watch your very own rocket speed 300 feet into the air! Then it is yours to take home! Students will make and take home multiple rockets of varying difficulty throughout this session. We will use these rockets and airplanes to investigate basic aeronautical concepts including: propulsion, thrust, lift, drag and more. We will also hypothesize about travel in outer space, how to get a United States astronaut to Mars and life on Mars. Do you have the right stuff? NOTE: Parents will be asked to contribute two, 2 liter soda bottles (empty) for 2 different experiments. Registration fees will be charged on 7/1 for all courses starting after 7/1.Summer 2026
