Sweet holiday memories await! Join us for our annual Candy Cane Hunt, where kids search our indoor festive course for treats and take home fun holiday craft projects. Warm up with cozy hot chocolate and explore self-directed activity stations throughout the evening! Self-Directed Activities (5:00 – 7:30 PM): Visit with Santa, face painting, an indoor snowball fight, hot chocolate, and holiday crafts! Flexible Hunt Times: Candy cane hunts run continuously throughout the 2.5-hour event, grouped by age/size so every child gets a fair turn—just arrive when it works best for your family! Double the Fun: Running simultaneously with our Holiday Cookie Decorating in Your PJs event—register for one or both! 📸 Parents, don't forget to bring your camera for photos with Santa!

The holiday season is here and we all love to enjoy the traditions of the holidays. We are here to make things a little easier and still get those traditions in with your family/friends and you get to have fun decorating cookies in your pajamas!! -All participants will receive 1 dozen sugar cookies, frosting, toppings, directions and more! Self Directed Areas (open 5-7:30 p.m.) for each paying participant: Visit with Santa, cookie decorating area, holiday craft pick up area, hot chocolate, face painting and more. Parents don't forget to bring your camera!!! If you are interested, we will be offering a separate, but simultaneous event that you are welcome to register for as well. We will be hosting a Candy Cane Hunt event that day too! Pre-registration is required for both events. Additionally, if you are interested in helping out a family who, otherwise, couldn't afford this event, you may select a variety of scholarship donations below.

Join us Wednesday, March 24 for a hopping good time at our Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt! We will have games, prizes, a craft, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself! Pre-registration required. Older kids are welcome, and that kids in the special Ed program are always welcome. Just contact us directly to register anyone over 13 years old. We offer 2 registration rates for the younger kids who may not be old enough yet for candy and the craft. If you are unable to afford the entry fee, please contact us at infohvreced@hvs.org to find out about our scholarship options. The scholarship donation option below is a way that we help families who may not be able to afford events like this one, still attend. We collect donations to help offset the costs of the event.

Ready to get in the game? We’re thrilled to bring you another high-energy youth soccer program through our partnership between HV Rec & Community Ed and the Carls Family YMCA! Program Overview When: Wednesday nights throughout July Where: Typically held at the YMCA (Subject to change to Oak Valley Center based on field maintenance schedules) Included in Fees: Official team t-shirt, refs, lead coaches, and field equipment. Player Gear: Families provide soccer socks and shin guards. Payment Date: Team fees will be charged on July 1st. Age Divisions & Game Schedules Ages 4–5 Division Format: 25-minute practice followed by a 30-minute game. Game Times: 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM on Wednesday evenings. Ages 6–8 | 8–10 | 10–12 Divisions Format: 45 minutes of skills, drills, and player development led by a Lead Coach, followed by 45 minutes of action-packed small-sided games (e.g., 3v3 or 4v4). What is Futsal? Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided soccer game that is played across the world and is officially recognized by both FIFA and UEFA. Futsal is recognized as a scaled down version of outdoor soccer played indoors. It is a 5 v 5 small-sided game played on a hard surfaced, basketball sized court with a smaller, low bounce ball. Futsal places a large emphasis on technical skill in high pressure situations which can be translated into the outdoor game. The sport is a great skill developer as it demands quick reflexes, fast thinking and pin-point passing. Why Futsal? Allows players to frequently touch the ball. Presents many opportunities to score goals and score goals often. Encourages regaining possession of the ball as a productive, fun and rewarding part of the game (defending). Maximizes active participation and minimizes inactivity and boredom. Eliminates complicated rules such as off-sides that may hinder youngsters from "playing". Divisions offered will be: Grades K-2; Grades 3-5; and Grades 6-8 Players will practice for 30-45 minutes and then play small-sided games for 30-45 minutes (depending on the age group) Team fees will include a t-shirt. Other needed equipment will need to be provided by the families (soccer socks and shin guards). Balls/cones/pinnies/other equipment is available for teams to share on site. Designed to help athletes of all skill levels build fundamental skills during practice and apply them in fun, friendly competition, this program is the perfect place to grow as a player. Note: Middle School and High School divisions are for players not currently playing on a school team this fall. 🏆 Division Options In-House Recreation Divisions (Co-Ed): Focuses on skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork in a fun environment for players of all skill levels Recreational Grades 3-5 and 6-8 (all rec divisions will play with a volleylite ball and allow serving modifications) Competitive Grade 4/5 Division: Built for players with club experience or strong athletic ability who are ready for pass/set/hit gameplay and consistent overhand serving.
