Join us on Wednesday nights this November and December at the Oak Valley Center for action-packed practices, games, and scrimmages. You'll get hands-on coaching and team play directly with High School coaches and players from Milford High School and Lakeland High School! Join us for a competitive volleyball league designed for 6th–8th graders who did not make their middle school team this fall or chose not to try out. This program provides an opportunity to play in a competitive setting through Huron Valley Rec & Ed. (Please note: This program is separate from school-sponsored intramural programs). League Details & Expectations Skill Level: Players should have prior volleyball experience. Beginners or players needing adapted rules should enroll in the Recreation Division. Rules: Follows standard middle school rules (regulation ball, 7'4" net height, no step-ins on serves, 5-serve limit per rotation, etc.). Season Duration: September through October (congruent with the middle school volleyball season). Schedule: Practices: Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays (6:00–7:30 PM or 7:30–9:00 PM). Games: Wednesday evenings at the Oak Valley Center. Tournament: An end-of-season tournament will be held if enough teams participate. Registration & Payment Registration Deadline: Wednesday, September 15. Fee Collection: Fees will not be processed until Friday, September 10. You may register now to reserve a spot without risk of paying if your child makes the middle school team. Coaching & Scholarships Volunteer Coaches: We aim to secure two coaches per team. Parent volunteer coaches receive a full registration fee waiver. Please indicate your interest during registration. Non-Parent Coaches: Compensated for their time. Details: Tryouts - Early Tryouts will be in July 2026. If we still need to fill teams after the early tryouts, then we'll host another tryout this Fall. If you are unable to make it on the original dates still register and we'll contact you about a make up option. Girls U10 - no tryouts, register if interested in participating. Season Dates - U11s - U14s: December - March (a few teams may choose to run December - April/May, details available at tryouts) Age Groups - see age cutoffs below to confirm your age group. Girls - U10s (3rd and 4th Grade), U11s (5th Grade), U12 (6th Grade), U13 (7th Grade), U14 (8th Grade), U15 (9th grade) Practices - Will begin in December 2026. Exact dates will be determined at a later date. Each team will practice 2x a week. Tournaments - Winter Teams/Short Season - will play in approx 6 - 1 day AAU Tournaments. Events will run Jan-March. Extended Season Teams - will play in several 1 day events plus several multi-day events (like Motor City Madness, Can-Am, etc) Uniforms - we will have a uniform for the players including a jersey, shorts, socks and kneepads. Bump, Set, Spike! Outdoor Grass Volleyball League Get ready for summer fun on the court! Whether your player is picking up a volleyball for the first time or looking to sharpen their skills, our co-ed in-house league offers a supportive, high-energy environment for all skill levels. Players will build fundamentals during weekly practice and put their skills to work during exciting Wednesday night matches! Program Highlights: Format: Co-ed league for new and returning players. 4 week league with 1 make up date option. Schedule: Wednesday night skills sessions from 5-5:45 p.m., followed by matches (1 or 2 matches) at 6 and/or 7 p.m. Coach Courtney Rudolph will be leading the skills sessions with the team coaches helping to execute the practice plan designed by Coach Courtney. Team Formation: Assigned based on registrations received. If you have a young/small/new incoming 6th grader, you can choose to play in the 4-6 age group. If you have a 6th grader who has played before/athletic/ok playing with 7th/8th graders, then sign them up for the 6-8 grade group. Designed to help athletes of all skill levels build fundamental skills during practice and apply them in fun, friendly competition, this program is the perfect place to grow as a player. Note: Middle School and High School divisions are for players not currently playing on a school team this fall. 🏆 Division Options In-House Recreation Divisions (Co-Ed): Focuses on skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork in a fun environment for players of all skill levels Recreational Grades 3-5 and 6-8 (all rec divisions will play with a volleylite ball and allow serving modifications) Competitive Grade 4/5 Division: Built for players with club experience or strong athletic ability who are ready for pass/set/hit gameplay and consistent overhand serving. Location Note for HS Division: To accommodate the start of HS sports on Aug 9, 2027, the High School division will play the weekend prior at Oak Valley Center. If we can use Central Park we will, but if we can't, we will use Oak Valley Center.
