NewHVS Middle School Inter-School Girls Volleyball LeagueVolleyball LeaguesJoin us for this league for 6th-8th graders to play for their school. This is for players who did not make the middle school team this fall OR chose not to try out. This will allow these girls a chance to still play for their school, but in an intramural setting. This program is NOT part of the intramural programs sponsored by the schools, this is a separate program offered through HV Rec and Ed! We will allow 1 non-HVS team to join as well so we have an even 4 teams for games. Each team will consist of 10-12 players from their school. Registration will close Wed., September 2, by then everyone should know if your child made the middle school team or not. Registration fees will not be collected until Fri., September 4, that way if you register now and your child makes the team, you do not have to pay the fee until tryouts are completed. We would like to secure 2 coaches per team and in lieu of paying the coaches, we will waive the entire registration fee for each coach for their time. If you are interested in being a coach for one of these teams, please respond accordingly during registration. If we are able to secure a non-parent coach, we will compensate them for their time. Scholarships are available, as needed as well. Please contact us at Shannon.Loso@hvs.org for those details. Practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7:30 p.m. or 7:30-9 p.m. at your home school (if possible) and games will be on Wednesday nights at one of the HVS middle schools. There will be an end of season tournament on Saturday, Oct 17 at Oak Valley. The season will run September through October; congruent to the Middle School Volleyball season.Fall 2026 -

Intro to Sports OfficiatingAdult RecreationThe Michigan High School Athletic Association has partnered with an online education system called RefReps. HV Rec and Community Ed is offering this officiating training for anyone ages 14 and older to get trained and certified to become an MHSAA official. There will be online training tools as well as in person lessons where students will get hands on training. HV Rec and Ed will also be offering jobs to officiate in the various leagues offered throughout the year. Wages are competitive and work schedules are flexible to work around busy school/sports/life schedules. This program will offer training in basketball, volleyball and soccer as the primary sports, but there will be options for students to get trained in any of the 13 offerings. The online training is interactive and provides "real life" examples from the official's perspective in live games. Course Fee: $75/sport (basketball, soccer and volleyball)- this includes online training, in person training, MHSAA license once the student successfully passes the course and lifetime access to the resources. All other sports will be $50/sport because it will ONLY be the online training, no hands on included.Year Long 25-26 -
