Future Stars Basketball Developmental Program (Gr K-2 and 3-5 Coed)Youth Basketball Leagues (Future Stars/HV United/Inter-School Boys)Future stars is designed for young athletes to build a strong foundation in the core elements of the game: ball handling, dribbling, shooting, and defense. Whether your child is just starting or looking to improve their skills, this class offers a fun, energetic, and structured environment where they can grow on and off the court. First half of the class will focus on skill development which can include fun games. second half will be 4v4, 5v5 Program Focus Areas: Ball Handling: Strengthen hand control and coordination using drills that teach proper technique and build confidence with both hands. Dribbling: Improve control under pressure, learn change-of-pace and direction techniques, and enhance court awareness through dynamic drills. Shooting: Master proper shooting form, balance, footwork, and follow-through. Players will work on shooting off the dribble, from the catch, and in game-like situations. Defense: Learn essential defensive techniques including stance, footwork, on-ball defense, help defense, and closeouts. Players will understand how to move their feet, stay in front of their opponent, and become effective team defenders. HV United Cross Country ClubCross Country TeamJoin the HV United Cross Country Club this Fall! We will introduce your young runner to the sport of running/cross country running. We will teach them proper running form/technique and they will have the opportunity to practice their skills at our 2 practices a week. We will have an end of season cross country meet on TBD at Highland Elementary. We will have a K-2 Division and a Gr 3-5 Division (if more are needed, we will create more) Every participant will receive a dri-fit uniform shirt, a medal and other goodies along the way. HV United Volleyball Club: TryoutsHV United Volleyball ClubHV United Volleyball Club entering its 5th season and is brought to you by HV Rec and Community Ed. To learn more about the club such as coaches, bios, fees, etc, click HERE. Details: Tryouts - Early Tryouts will be in July 2026. If we still need to fill teams after the early tryouts, then we'll host another tryout this Fall. If you are unable to make it on the original dates still register and we'll contact you about a make up option. Girls U10 - no tryouts, register if interested in participating. Season Dates - U11s - U14s: December - March (a few teams may choose to run December - April/May, details available at tryouts) Age Groups - see age cutoffs below to confirm your age group. Girls - U10s (3rd and 4th Grade), U11s (5th Grade), U12 (6th Grade), U13 (7th Grade), U14 (8th Grade), U15 (9th grade) Practices - Will begin in December 2026. Exact dates will be determined at a later date. Each team will practice 2x a week. Tournaments - Winter Teams/Short Season - will play in approx 6 - 1 day AAU Tournaments. Events will run Jan-March. Extended Season Teams - will play in several 1 day events plus several multi-day events (like Motor City Madness, Can-Am, etc) Uniforms - we will have a uniform for the players including a jersey, shorts, socks and kneepads. HVS Middle School Inter-School Boys Basketball LeagueYouth Basketball Leagues (Future Stars/HV United/Inter-School Boys)Get Ready to Hit the Court! 🏀 Calling all 6th–8th grade boys! Whether you skipped tryouts or just missed the cut for the school team, this is your chance to represent your school, compete with friends, and hit the hardwood in an exciting, fast-paced intramural setting. Note: This league is independently run and presented by HV Rec and Ed, separate from school-sponsored intramurals. League Overview & Format Who It’s For: 6th–8th Grade Boys (10–12 players per team). The Competition: A league featuring HVS school teams plus 1 non-HVS team (if we have room) Practices: Mon, Tue, or Wed evenings (6:00–7:30 PM or 7:30–9:00 PM) at your home school whenever possible. Games: Thursday nights at an HVS middle school venue. Playoff Finale: The season wraps up with a high-stakes playoff night where every team plays 2 games to battle for 1st through 4th place! Season Duration: November through December (runs congruent with the Middle School Boys Basketball season). Zero-Risk Registration & Deadlines Fee Payment Date: Fri., Oct. 30 — Lock in your spot now without paying upfront! Fees won't be collected until after tryouts finish, so if your child makes the school team, you won't owe a thing. Final Registration Deadline: Wed., Nov. 4 Volunteer Coaches & Scholarships Coach's Kids are Free: We need 2 coaches per team! In exchange for head/assistant coaching, we will completely waive your child's registration fee. Non-parent coaches will receive financial compensation. HVS Middle School Inter-School Girls Volleyball LeagueVolleyball LeaguesJoin us for this league for 6th-8th graders to play for their school. This is for players who did not make the middle school team this fall OR chose not to try out. This will allow these girls a chance to still play for their school, but in an intramural setting. This program is NOT part of the intramural programs sponsored by the schools, this is a separate program offered through HV Rec and Ed! We will allow 1 non-HVS team to join as well so we have an even 4 teams for games. Each team will consist of 10-12 players from their school. Registration will close Wed., September 2, by then everyone should know if your child made the middle school team or not. Registration fees will not be collected until Fri., September 4, that way if you register now and your child makes the team, you do not have to pay the fee until tryouts are completed. We would like to secure 2 coaches per team and in lieu of paying the coaches, we will waive the entire registration fee for each coach for their time. If you are interested in being a coach for one of these teams, please respond accordingly during registration. If we are able to secure a non-parent coach, we will compensate them for their time. Our In-House Volleyball League is open to both new and returning co-ed players! Designed to help athletes of all skill levels build fundamental skills during practice and apply them in fun, friendly competition, this program is the perfect place to grow as a player. Outdoor Rec Grass Volleyball League (Gr 4-8)Volleyball LeaguesBump, Set, Spike! Outdoor Grass Volleyball League Get ready for summer fun on the court! Whether your player is picking up a volleyball for the first time or looking to sharpen their skills, our co-ed in-house league offers a supportive, high-energy environment for all skill levels. Players will build fundamentals during weekly practice and put their skills to work during exciting Wednesday night matches! Program Highlights: Format: Co-ed league for new and returning players. 4 week league with 1 make up date option. Schedule: Wednesday night skills sessions from 5-5:45 p.m., followed by matches (1 or 2 matches) at 6 and/or 7 p.m. Coach Courtney Rudolph will be leading the skills sessions with the team coaches helping to execute the practice plan designed by Coach Courtney. Team Formation: Assigned based on registrations received. If you have a young/small/new incoming 6th grader, you can choose to play in the 4-6 age group. If you have a 6th grader who has played before/athletic/ok playing with 7th/8th graders, then sign them up for the 6-8 grade group. Program Overview When: Wednesday nights throughout July Where: Typically held at the YMCA (Subject to change to Oak Valley Center based on field maintenance schedules) Included in Fees: Official team t-shirt, refs, lead coaches, and field equipment. Player Gear: Families provide soccer socks and shin guards. Payment Date: Team fees will be charged on July 1st.
