Come experience our annual Candy Cane Hunt! Kids will get to search an indoor course for candy canes and receive some take home holiday craft projects! Hot chocolate will also be served to help warm up the festivities! We will offer "Hunt" times throughout the 2.5 hour period and we will lump similar ages/sizes together for the "hunt". So just come when you can and we'll make sure your kids get to hunt while you are at the event. If you are interested, we will be offering a separate, but simultaneous event that you are welcome to register for as well. We will be hosting a Holiday Cookie Decorating event that day too! This event is geared towards children 9 years and younger. Older children are allowed to register/attend, but please note that the crafts and activities are geared towards younger children. When you arrive please check-in inside the school entrance and then the event leaders will announce "hunt" times throughout the event. Self Directed Areas (open 5-7:30 p.m.) for each paying participant: Visit with Santa, holiday craft pick up area, hot chocolate, face painting, indoor snowball fight and more. Parents don't forget to bring your camera!!! Additionally, if you are interested in helping out a family who, otherwise, couldn't afford this event, you may select a variety of scholarship donations below.

Join us Wednesday, March 24 for a hopping good time at our Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt! We will have games, prizes, a craft, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself! Pre-registration required. Older kids are welcome, and that kids in the special Ed program are always welcome. Just contact us directly to register anyone over 13 years old. We offer 2 registration rates for the younger kids who may not be old enough yet for candy and the craft. If you are unable to afford the entry fee, please contact us at infohvreced@hvs.org to find out about our scholarship options. The scholarship donation option below is a way that we help families who may not be able to afford events like this one, still attend. We collect donations to help offset the costs of the event.

Looking for a way to help other kids enjoy the HV Rec and Ed programming, who otherwise can't afford to participate? We have just the thin for you! You can donate to our scholarship fund. We work hard to provide opportunities for every person in our community, but sometimes, there are families who can't afford our programming. We do provide scholarships to these families and with your help, we can provide even more of these opportunities for deserving families this coming year. Whether you want to help a little or a lot, you are making a difference to these families, thank you!

Trade the cold for a tropical escape right here in your community. The Beach Bash Family Dance is your chance to enjoy an evening filled with music, movement, and hands-on fun the whole family can share. Kids can jump into beach-themed crafts, interactive activities, and light snacks designed especially for ages 12 and under, while families fill the dance floor together with upbeat music and a laid-back, summer vibe. The night builds to a can’t-miss moment with our crowd-favorite balloon drop that brings everyone together for one unforgettable finish. Open to families across the community, this is an easy, joy-filled way to spend time together, connect with others, and create lasting memories. A professional photo is included in your fee. Double Exposure Photography will be our photographer. Registration closes at 9 a.m. on 10/21/26. To purchase tickets after 9 a.m., please just arrive early for the time slot you wanted and you can register on site with a QR code. The day of price is $7. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! Celebrate Halloween a little early with Huron Valley Recreation and Community Education. Not only will kids get the experience of trick or treating, but they will also get to see the area's biggest trucks. Possible trucks will include a dump truck, fire engine, bulldozer, and much more! All children must be accompanied by an adult. Event will proceed rain or shine! We have two time slots where we won't have horns/sirens going, in case you have a child that is scared or startled with the loud noises. You will register by your arrival time. You are welcome to stay longer than your 30 minute time slot, but we will be wrapping up by 7:15/7:30 p.m. so please plan accordingly. This event will be held at Oak Valley MS (new location) in the parking lot. Also, all activities will be outside. Activities include trick or treating with the trucks, a special holiday treat for all of our paid participants and we will also now offer food trucks as an option for attendees. The food truck purchases are NOT part of your registration fee. Children ages 2 - 13 = $5/child. The $5 fee covers the cost of the candy for all of our trucks and the treat for all of our participants. Older kids are welcome and kids in the Special Ed program are always welcome. Whether you’re attending as a parent and child, with a relative, guardian, mentor, or another important person in your life, this evening is all about celebrating time together in a fun and inclusive atmosphere. Come ready to dance, create, and make lasting memories. Registration Process: Register your child for the event. There is no need to register accompanying adult(s). If more than two adults plan to attend, you will be able to indicate that during registration. If you are registering multiple children, please sign up each child individually. The first child is $15 (ages 2 and under) or $25 (ages 3 and older). Each additional child is $10. The multi-child discount will be automatically applied at checkout.
