OCTOBER 17th :
Yayoi Kusama-Inspired :
Polka Dot Painted Pumpkins
World-renowned Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama loves pumpkins for their "humorous form and warm feeling." In this hands-on session, young artists will explore color value and monochromatic painting using tints and shades, then overlay repeating dot patterns to bring their own vibrant pumpkin masterpiece to life! Before starting their creations, students will listen to a story about Yayoi Kusama, learning about her life, unique vision, and lifelong fascination with dots and organic shapes. This interactive storytelling time introduces key art concepts and inspires students with Kusama's celebrated playful approach to contemporary art.
