United Soccer Rec League - Co-EdUnited Soccer LeagueLearn the fundamentals of soccer as well as the importance of teamwork through Youth Soccer. Everyone plays and everyone is part of the team. Kids develop important soccer skills, including passing, dribbling, shooting and working as a team in a fun and supportive environment. Not only will children have an opportunity to advance skills, but they'll also build social skills, gain confidence and develop leadership skills. Dedicated volunteer coaches are trained to set expectations and help kids find their strengths and improve. This is a co-ed league. Ages 4-5: Practice 25 minutes and Play 30 minutes on Saturday mornings. Practices: Begins week of Sept 8 assigned 1practice/week (coaches will select practice days, Mon-Fri starting at 6 or 6:30 p.m.) Games: Sat. Sept 13-Oct 18 assigned 1 or 2 games/week, depending on the number of teams in each division. (Location: Carls Family YMCA or Oak Valley MS), game times will be between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Divisions: Ages 6-8 and 8-11; if you have younger/smaller/newer players who are 8 years old, we suggest registering for the 6-8 division; if you have more mature/developed/experienced 8 year old then we suggest the 8-11 year old division. Divisions: Middle School Division -new format, still a rec league. Coaches Meeting @ TBD Volunteer Coaches will receive a 25% discount on team fees (applied AFTER registration) Team Pictures will be on TBD (rain or shine) @ the YMCA/Oak Valley before/after your game that day. Team fees will include uniform jersey. Other needed equipment will need to be provided by the families (soccer socks and shin guards). Balls/cones/pinnies/other equipment is available for teams to share on site. Free/Reduced Lunch and Multi-child discounts apply. Pink Out Game on Saturday, Oct 11! Last year was our first year running this event and it was a huge success! More details to follow but you can order yourself a Pink Out shirt to wear that day! In House Volleyball League (Grades 3-12)Volleyball LeaguesIn-House Recreation League - Our in-house program is for new/returning players that will help players of all skill levels learn/improve their volleyball skills in practice and use them in friendly competition. Teams are co-ed and we encourage boys and girls to register. Middle School AND High School In-House Recreation Divisions are for players NOT playing for their school this fall. Middle School (7/8) and High School In-House Recreation divisions will play matches on Thursday nights (to avoid conflicts with Friday night football games). Grades 3rd-6th In-House Recreation divisions will play matches on Friday nights (at 6, 7 or 8 p.m.), Sept-Nov. We have also added a new competitive Gr 4/5 division and competitive Gr 6-8th inter-school division. Competitive In House Gr 4/5 Division: We are encouraging players who have club experience and those who are strong athletes who have a good foundation of the skills and ready to play pass/set/hit volleyball and most serving overhand. * This competitive level is not intended for players new to the sport* Competitive 6-8th Inter-School Division: Click HERE to view the inter-school competitive division for Gr 6-8 for girl players who have at least 2 years of playing experience, have played club ball before, and/or have a good foundational understanding of the game and skills. Registration for this program will end after middle school tryouts are over- this is for players NOT playing for their school. Games for this division will take place on Wednesday nights. Team pictures will be TBD @ your game site. Coaches/Ref Meeting TBD.: We will review rules, net set up, general information and offer skills and drills training. Practices: begin the week of September 8 at HVS middle schools, Heritage/Oxbow/Lakewood/Spring Mills Elementary. Each team will have 1 guaranteed practice nights between Mon-Thurs, either 6-7:30 p.m. or 7:30-9 p.m. - which the coach will select the team practice night. Games: Matches are on Thursdays (7/8 & HS) and on Fridays (Gr 3-6) from September 19-November 14 with the end of season tournament running Nov 7 and 14. Your players may have multiple matches on those days. HV Rec and Ed night at the LHS vs MHS volleyball match @ MHS this year, date TBD. Freshman and JV start at 5 p.m. and Varsity follows, around 6:30/7 p.m. start time. Wear your shirt and get in for free. Make it a "team" activity and go together! Intro to Sports OfficiatingAdult RecreationThe Michigan High School Athletic Association has partnered with an online education system called RefReps. HV Rec and Community Ed is offering this officiating training for anyone ages 14 and older to get trained and certified to become an MHSAA official. There will be online training tools as well as in person lessons where students will get hands on training. HV Rec and Ed will also be offering jobs to officiate in the various leagues offered throughout the year. Wages are competitive and work schedules are flexible to work around busy school/sports/life schedules. This program will offer training in basketball, volleyball and soccer as the primary sports, but there will be options for students to get trained in any of the 13 offerings. The online training is interactive and provides "real life" examples from the official's perspective in live games. Course Fee: $75/sport (basketball, soccer and volleyball)- this includes online training, in person training, MHSAA license once the student successfully passes the course and lifetime access to the resources. All other sports will be $50/sport because it will ONLY be the online training, no hands on included.Year Long 24-25

This program will meet weekly on Thursdays at Oak Valley MS. The league will provide lead coaches/managers for each field and they will lead the skills sessions for the first 30 minutes on each day, followed by game play for the last 30 minutes. We will still need volunteer coaches to help execute the drills and to help keep the teams organized during game-play. Team pictures will be TBD prior to game time. Space will be limited so register early! We are limiting this program to the first 40 players (4 teams of 10). Registration fee will be charged on 8/1/25.Fall 2025

Holiday Cookie Decorating in Your PJs!Special EventsThe holiday season is here and we all love to enjoy the traditions of the holidays. We are here to make things a little easier and still get those traditions in with your family/friends and you get to have fun decorating cookies in your pajamas!! -All participants will receive 1 dozen sugar cookies, frosting, food coloring, directions and more! Self Directed Areas (open 5-7:30 p.m.) for each paying participant: Visit with Santa, cookie decorating area, holiday craft pick up area, hot chocolate, face painting and more. Parents don't forget to bring your camera!!! If you are interested, we will be offering a separate, but simultaneous event that you are welcome to register for as well. We will be hosting a Candy Cane Hunt event that day too! Pre-registration is required for both events. Additionally, if you are interested in helping out a family who, otherwise, couldn't afford this event, you may select a variety of scholarship donations below.Fall 2025

Candy Cane HuntSpecial EventsCome experience our annual Candy Cane Hunt! Kids will get to search an indoor course for candy canes and receive some take home holiday craft projects! Hot chocolate will also be served to help warm up the festivities! We will offer "Hunt" times throughout the 2 hour period and we will lump similar ages/sizes together for the "hunt". So just come when you can and we'll make sure your kids get to hunt while you are at the event. If you are interested, we will be offering a separate, but simultaneous event that you are welcome to register for as well. We will be hosting a Holiday Cookie Decorating event that day too! This event is geared towards children 9 years and younger. Older children are allowed to register/attend, but please note that the crafts and activities are geared towards younger children. When you arrive please check-in inside the school entrance and then the event leaders will announce "hunt" times throughout the event. Self Directed Areas (open 5-7:30 p.m.) for each paying participant: Visit with Santa, holiday craft pick up area, hot chocolate, face painting, indoor snowball fight and more. Trick or TrucksSpecial EventsRegistration closes at 9 a.m. on 10/23/25. To purchase tickets after 9 a.m., please just arrive early for the time slot you wanted and you can register on site with a QR code. The day of price is $8. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! Celebrate Halloween a little early with Huron Valley Recreation and Community Education. Not only will kids get the experience of trick or treating, but they will also get to see the area's biggest trucks. Possible trucks will include a dump truck, fire engine, bulldozer, and much more! All children must be accompanied by an adult. Event will proceed rain or shine! We have two time slots where we won't have horns/sirens going, in case you have a child that is scared or startled with the loud noises. You will register by your arrival time. You are welcome to stay longer than your 30 minute time slot, but we will be wrapping up by 7:15/7:30 p.m. so please plan accordingly. This event will be held at Oak Valley MS (new location) in the parking lot. Also, all activities will be outside. Activities include trick or treating with the trucks, a special holiday treat for all of our paid participants and we will also now offer food trucks as an option for attendees. The food truck purchases are NOT part of your registration fee. Children ages 2 - 13 = $5/child. The $5 fee covers the cost of the candy for all of our trucks and the treat for all of our participants. Older kids are welcome and kids in the Special Ed program are always welcome. Just contact us directly to register anyone over 13 years old. Children ages 0-23 months = Free, but they will not receive candy/donut/craft, but they are welcome to enjoy the trucks. If you are unable to afford the entry fee, please contact us at Paige.Spencer@hvs.org to find out about our scholarship options. The scholarship donation option below is a way that we help families who may not be able to afford events like this one, still attend.
