United Soccer Rec League - Co-EdUnited Soccer LeagueLearn the fundamentals of soccer as well as the importance of teamwork through Youth Soccer. Everyone plays and everyone is part of the team. Kids develop important soccer skills, including passing, dribbling, shooting and working as a team in a fun and supportive environment. Not only will children have an opportunity to advance skills, but they'll also build social skills, gain confidence and develop leadership skills. Dedicated volunteer coaches are trained to set expectations and help kids find their strengths and improve. This is a co-ed league. Ages 4-5: Practice 25 minutes and Play 30 minutes on Saturday mornings. Practices: Begins week of Sept 8 assigned 1practice/week (coaches will select practice days, Mon-Fri starting at 6 or 6:30 p.m.) Games: Sat. Sept 13-Oct 18 assigned 1 or 2 games/week, depending on the number of teams in each division. (Location: Carls Family YMCA or Oak Valley MS), game times will be between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Divisions: Ages 6-8 and 8-11; if you have younger/smaller/newer players who are 8 years old, we suggest registering for the 6-8 division; if you have more mature/developed/experienced 8 year old then we suggest the 8-11 year old division. Divisions: Middle School Division -new format, still a rec league. Coaches Meeting @ TBD Volunteer Coaches will receive a 25% discount on team fees (applied AFTER registration) Team Pictures will be on TBD (rain or shine) @ the YMCA/Oak Valley before/after your game that day. Team fees will include uniform jersey. Other needed equipment will need to be provided by the families (soccer socks and shin guards). Balls/cones/pinnies/other equipment is available for teams to share on site. Free/Reduced Lunch and Multi-child discounts apply. Pink Out Game on Saturday, Oct 11! Intro to Sports OfficiatingAdult RecreationThe Michigan High School Athletic Association has partnered with an online education system called RefReps. HV Rec and Community Ed is offering this officiating training for anyone ages 14 and older to get trained and certified to become an MHSAA official. There will be online training tools as well as in person lessons where students will get hands on training. HV Rec and Ed will also be offering jobs to officiate in the various leagues offered throughout the year. Wages are competitive and work schedules are flexible to work around busy school/sports/life schedules. This program will offer training in basketball, volleyball and soccer as the primary sports, but there will be options for students to get trained in any of the 13 offerings. The online training is interactive and provides "real life" examples from the official's perspective in live games. Course Fee: $75/sport (basketball, soccer and volleyball)- this includes online training, in person training, MHSAA license once the student successfully passes the course and lifetime access to the resources. All other sports will be $50/sport because it will ONLY be the online training, no hands on included.Year Long 25-26

This recreational program utilizes volunteers for coaching (this volunteer will likely be a parent). ~Practices scheduled to start the week of Jan. 5. Each team will be assigned 1 guaranteed practice and some teams may choose to add a 2nd practice M-F for 60-75 minute increments at various HVS schools ~Games will be played on Saturdays starting January 17 and we will aim to end by Feb 28 (to avoid conflicts with spring sports schedules, as long as we don't have any weather cancellations). We strive to create an environment where players will experience equal playing time or as close to equal as possible. If teams are more or less than 10 players, that is not always possible, but over the course of the season the playing time should be equal or close to equal. The games are listed on the schedule, but the times won't be known until late December. Games could be anytime between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. (depending on the size of the division). There will no games on Feb. 14 (due to HVS winter break). HV Rec and Ed will now provide 2 paid scorekeepers per game so parents no longer have to help at the score table Register 2 or more children for the HV United Basketball league and receive a $5 discount for each additional child. Discounts applied at checkout. Parents/guardians who volunteer to coach will receive a discount on their child's registration fees. This will be refunded back AFTER we confirm who the coaches will be for the season and AT the CONCLUSION of the season. Glow In The Dark Easter Egg Hunt!Special EventsJoin us Wednesday, March 25 for a hopping good time at our Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt! We will have games, prizes, a craft, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself! Pre-registration required. Older kids are welcome, and that kids in the special Ed program are always welcome. Just contact us directly to register anyone over 13 years old. Children ages 0-24 months = Free, but they will not receive the candy bag or the craft but they are welcome to attend the hunt! If you are unable to afford the entry fee, please contact us at infohvreced@hvs.org to find out about our scholarship options. The scholarship donation option below is a way that we help families who may not be able to afford events like this one, still attend. Holiday Cookie Decorating in Your PJs!Special EventsThe holiday season is here and we all love to enjoy the traditions of the holidays. We are here to make things a little easier and still get those traditions in with your family/friends and you get to have fun decorating cookies in your pajamas!! -All participants will receive 1 dozen sugar cookies, frosting, food coloring, directions and more! Self Directed Areas (open 5-7:30 p.m.) for each paying participant: Visit with Santa, cookie decorating area, holiday craft pick up area, hot chocolate, face painting and more. Parents don't forget to bring your camera!!! If you are interested, we will be offering a separate, but simultaneous event that you are welcome to register for as well. Candy Cane HuntSpecial EventsCome experience our annual Candy Cane Hunt! Kids will get to search an indoor course for candy canes and receive some take home holiday craft projects! Hot chocolate will also be served to help warm up the festivities! We will offer "Hunt" times throughout the 2 hour period and we will lump similar ages/sizes together for the "hunt". So just come when you can and we'll make sure your kids get to hunt while you are at the event. If you are interested, we will be offering a separate, but simultaneous event that you are welcome to register for as well. We will be hosting a Holiday Cookie Decorating event that day too! This event is geared towards children 9 years and younger. Older children are allowed to register/attend, but please note that the crafts and activities are geared towards younger children. When you arrive please check-in inside the school entrance and then the event leaders will announce "hunt" times throughout the event. Drive-In Movie Night: Build Your Own Cardboard CarSpecial EventsJoin us for a one-of-a-kind movie night experience! Kids will unleash their creativity by designing and decorating their very own cardboard cars before the show begins. Once their “ride” is ready, they’ll park it under the stars and enjoy a family-friendly film on the big screen. This fun-filled evening combines hands-on crafting with the magic of a drive-in, giving kids the chance to create, imagine, and make memories with friends. Please bring your own cardboard boxes and any special items needed to create your car (or you can build it ahead of time too). We will have several arts and crafts items available to use as well. Register your child, but adults are expected to attend with your child (just no additional fee for the adult).There is limited space so pre-registration is required. Trick or TrucksSpecial EventsRegistration closes at 9 a.m. on 10/23/25. To purchase tickets after 9 a.m., please just arrive early for the time slot you wanted and you can register on site with a QR code. The day of price is $8. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! Celebrate Halloween a little early with Huron Valley Recreation and Community Education. Not only will kids get the experience of trick or treating, but they will also get to see the area's biggest trucks. Possible trucks will include a dump truck, fire engine, bulldozer, and much more! All children must be accompanied by an adult. Event will proceed rain or shine! We have two time slots where we won't have horns/sirens going, in case you have a child that is scared or startled with the loud noises. You will register by your arrival time. You are welcome to stay longer than your 30 minute time slot, but we will be wrapping up by 7:15/7:30 p.m. so please plan accordingly. This event will be held at Oak Valley MS (new location) in the parking lot. Also, all activities will be outside. Activities include trick or treating with the trucks, a special holiday treat for all of our paid participants and we will also now offer food trucks as an option for attendees. The food truck purchases are NOT part of your registration fee. Children ages 2 - 13 = $5/child. The $5 fee covers the cost of the candy for all of our trucks and the treat for all of our participants. Older kids are welcome and kids in the Special Ed program are always welcome.
